TERRASZA BCN 2024 represents an unprecedented opportunity for professionals and design enthusiasts to explore spaces, products, and events related to outdoor living. Conceived as a 'business to buyers' event and organized within the program of the Barcelona Design Week, TERRASZA BCN 2024 consists of multiple moments:

- From October 16th to 26th: a circuit of showrooms and design stores for outdoor spaces, spread throughout the city, as well as alternative locations such as hotel and restaurant terraces, with the aim of promoting synergies and exchanges that foster dialogue and reflection on lifestyles and creative challenges from a transdisciplinary perspective.

- From October 17th to 20th: expo/market on the magnificent terrace of FX Barcelona Film School, located in Poble Nou, overlooking some of the city's most emblematic architectures. The first two days are dedicated to professionals, with organized meetings with interior designers and architects; for the weekend, the space is open to the general public, and on Sunday, products and plants will be sold at a special price. Brands and collections for outdoor spaces, produced by leading companies and designed in collaboration with designers from around the world, will be showcased.

As an OFF event of BDW 2024 "Design for Human Future," TERRASZA presents a project that reflects the theme of water: Leave Plastics to Arts is the exhibition by artist Xavi Muñoz created to introduce the social awareness project ¡Aiguame! by TERRASZA, an eco-hydration circuit of bars where you can refill your own bottle and stop buying plastic bottles.

On the same dates and location, the MARE NOSTRUM ART DESIGN exhibition, curated by Mariona Rubio Sabatés with the support of A-FAD, celebrates the greatness of craftsmanship and Design Art related to the Mediterranean, an ideal of life and an ethical model, a timeless metaphor for the good life and happiness.

TERRASZA is a new reality, both offline and online, aiming to elevate exteriorism to a real category of thought and market with international relevance. It was born in Barcelona, in the heart of the city-manifesto of design and outdoor living, and its name TERRA-SZ-A is a play on words: as a tribute to the Catalan capital, where the word 'terrace,' emblematic of the pleasure of gathering with friends and family in a cozy outdoor space, is written with two S's; and to Spanish, where it is written with a Z, as in Italian, to emphasize the origin of the project's founders.

A new issue of the magazine TERRASZA VIEWS, with new illustrations by Ángela Léon, will be printed and distributed for free in the city, with a map connecting different locations, including showrooms, hotels, public and private spaces, offering dedicated showcases, installations, and thematic cultural meetings.

TERRASZA's scientific director, Juan Cabello Arribas (Adjunct Professor at IE (Spain), architectural researcher in the practice of Architectural Project linked to ecological mediation and Postdoctoral Researcher at DPA PUC-Rio), will invite us to establish direct mediation between the world of design and ecological thinking, raising awareness among both creators and brands dedicated to the production of outdoor objects and materials to pay greater attention to issues related to the changes we are causing in the environment and on the Planet. As stated in its Manifesto, TERRASZA is committed to promoting synergies and exchanges that foster dialogue and reflection on topics such as ecology, lifestyles, and creative challenges from a transdisciplinary perspective. Design and architecture, art and science, creativity and ecology must go hand in hand.

After October in Barcelona, in 2025 TERRASZA will continue its itinerant journey in February at the Madrid Design Festival, in March at Mallorca Design Days, and returning to the Milan Design Week next April.
