RE Air-Armchair
MAGIS strives for innovation by constantly exploring new materials and technologies as alternatives to traditional plastics. More than two decades since the inception of the Air-Family by Jasper Morrison, the company introduces RE Air-Chair and RE Air-Armchair. These new iterations of the iconic chair, with and without armrests, are crafted entirely from 100% post-consumer plastic sourced from recycled polylaminates and single-use food packaging. Through a meticulous process, the paper and plastic components of polylaminates are separated and recycled. The plastic is then transformed into granules, reinforced with glass fiber, and utilized for chair production. Employing air-moulding technology, the same process used in the traditional Air-Chair, allows for lightweight and durable chairs to be crafted in minutes while minimizing material usage.
Both models are offered in a singular finish, showcasing the natural color resulting from the material blend without the need for additional dyes.
