The photoluminescent bollards from the RecycALL project, by Alessandro Canepa, Tiziana Di Sipio, and Sara Priore for Viscio, have received accolades from the ADI Design Index 2023 and are nominated for the Compasso d'Oro 2024. They serve as both seats and lighting fixtures, using locally sourced inert materials to reduce costs, emissions, and enhance urban spaces. Apricena Madrepietra (Mother Stone) is a sedimentary limestone extracted in Apulia at the foot of the Gargano, in southern Italy, the second national basin after that of Carrara. With its remarkable durability and aesthetic qualities, it is utilized in cost-effective recomposed forms.

Inert stonewaste of Apricena Madrepietra makes up over 70% of the water and concrete (Photocatalytic concrete). Italcementi TX active in the mixture reduces the amount of CO2 in the air. The combined action of light and TX Active® ingredient breaks down man-made pollutants.

RecycALL's photoluminescence, achieved through glass microparticles, enables the artifacts to emit light in the dark, akin to natural batteries, providing sustainable illumination.
